TAYLORVILLE— Congressman Rodney Davis is announcing his endorsement of outsider Seth McMillan for the 48th Senate District seat in the Illinois Senate this November. Davis, who has represented much of the 48th District while serving in Congress since 2013, says McMillan is the right choice to serve residents of the area.
“Seth McMillan is exactly who we need to get state government back on track,” said Davis. “Illinois cannot afford more of the status quo at the State Capitol. Seth will fight against Chicago politicians who have spent years leading our state into bankruptcy. I trust that Seth will fight for pro-business, pro-taxpayer policies that will lead to greater economic growth in Central Illinois.”
McMillan is a small business owner concerned about high income taxes, high property taxes, and too much spending by career politicians in Springfield.
“In Congress, Rodney Davis is a champion for taxpayers, farmers, and small business owners,” said McMillan. “He voted for historic tax cuts that will put money in the pockets of residents of the 48th District and a Farm Bill that protects our farmers from falling commodity prices. He’s exactly the kind of model legislator we need in Springfield.”
